Local Educator Receives MLK Award This Thursday

**Local Educator Honored at Upcoming Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Awards Dinner**
Columbus, OH—This Thursday, January 16, 2025, the Columbus Education Association (CEA) will host its 44th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Awards Dinner at the Columbus Convention Center’s Battelle North Ballroom, located at 400 North High Street. The event will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
The ceremony will honor individuals who have made significant contributions in areas of social justice, diversity, and human rights. Stephen Ingram, a dedicated band teacher at Linden-McKinley STEM Academy, will receive the prestigious Helen Jenkins Davis Award. This recognition highlights his outstanding commitment to fostering inclusiveness and championing social justice within the community.
The evening will also feature the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Award, which will be presented to Dr. Antoinette Miranda, a professor at The Ohio State University. Renowned TV host, author, and political commentator Symone D. Sanders Townsend will deliver the keynote speech.
