**Union County Officials Attend ELC Breakfast**

This morning, several prominent Union County officials attended the Union County Employer Legislative Committee (ELC) Breakfast event. Those in attendance included Union County Commissioner Chairwoman Lourdes Leon, Commissioner Bette Jane Kowalski, County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi, Deputy County Manager Amy Crisp Wagner, and County Counsel Bruce Bergen.

Chairwoman Lourdes Leon served as the guest speaker for the morning. During her remarks, she shared her vision and initiatives aimed at fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors to benefit Union County residents.

The event provided an opportunity for local government representatives and members of the business community to exchange ideas and discuss plans for the county’s growth and development. The breakfast was hosted by the Employer Legislative Committee, with Adam Farrah being acknowledged for his role in organizing the gathering.

The Union County community looks forward to continuing this engagement in the years to come.

SEATTLE — A two-alarm fire at a three-story duplex in the Fremont neighborhood drew about 90 firefighters after smoke and flames were reported on the roof at 2:29 p.m., with crews knocking down the blaze from a rooftop deck, rescuing one cat and reporting another missing, no injuries, and investigators saying the fire was accidental and likely caused by improperly discarded smoking materials.

Linden Street Bridge closed in Scranton for $6.3 million overhaul

Scranton, Pa. — The Linden Street Bridge is closed through the end of 2026 for a $6.3 million overhaul, detouring about 4,500 daily vehicles along 7th Avenue to Lackawanna Avenue while pedestrians can still cross on the sidewalk, according to PennDOT.
