**Warming Centers Open in Columbus for Freezing Temperatures**
The City of Columbus, under the guidance of Mayor Andrew J. Ginther, has announced the opening of warming centers to help residents stay safe during the freezing temperatures. The Columbus Recreation and Parks Department is hosting these warming centers at five community centers across the city.
Residents can find relief from the cold from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the following locations:
- Barnett Community Center
- Dodge Community Center
- Linden Community Center
- Marion Franklin Community Center
- Thompson Community Center
Columbus Public Health encourages families to stay indoors as much as possible, wear layers, stay dry, and avoid direct exposure to wind to prevent frostbite and hypothermia. Officials are also urging everyone to bring their pets inside and check in on older family members and friends during the cold snap.
These warming centers aim to provide a safe and warm place for anyone in need during this frigid weather.
