In recent weeks, multiple fires were reported in Boise parks that officials linked to the use of illegal fireworks, according to a reminder from Boise Parks and Recreation.

The Boise Fire Department, Boise Police Department and Boise Parks and Recreation said personal fireworks are not allowed in city parks. Officials warned that anyone found possessing or using fireworks could be charged.

They asked residents and visitors to leave fireworks at home when visiting parks and open spaces, saying the reminder is intended to help protect outdoor areas in Boise.
