Community Input Needed for Parks Conservation Plan

The City of Linden Department of Parks and Recreation is conducting a Parks Open Space Conservation Master Plan and invites community members to provide input on improving and conserving the city's 27 parks and 258 acres of open space.

Residents from the respective wards are encouraged to participate in meetings scheduled for October and November. The meetings will take place from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

The first meeting is set for Wednesday, October 16th, focusing on the Eighth Ward Parks. It will be held at the 8th Ward Park Fieldhouse, located at Edche Pl and Park Ave. Parks to be discussed include Bachelor Avenue Park, Dorothy Ford (St Rose Park), McGillivray Place Park, Milosky Park, and Wanda Anta Green Mem Park.

The second meeting will be on Monday, October 28th, for the Seventh Ward Parks. This meeting will take place at the Tremley Point Fieldhouse at Main St and Wood Ave. Discussed parks will include Buchanan Street Park, Clinton Street Park, Memorial Park, Seventeenth Street Park, Sixteenth Ward Park, and Tremley Point Park.

A third meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 29th, to cover the Second Ward Parks. It will occur at the JTG Recreation Center, located at 330 Helen Street, focusing on Blanche Street Park.

Additional ward meetings will be scheduled for later dates. More information can be found in the attached flyer.
