**Mock Election at Linden School: Pizza vs. Tacos**

LINDEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, NJ — Students at School No. 4 participated in a mock election on October 17 to decide their favorite food, choosing between pizza and tacos. The event allowed students to engage in a voting experience similar to real elections.

The election saw a turnout of 400 voters, with pizza winning decisively at 266 votes, while tacos garnered 134 votes. Principal Dr. Suzanne Oliver announced the results shortly after the polls closed, leading to cheers from pizza supporters and promises of a taco comeback in future events.

The Union County Board of Elections oversaw the event, setting up six voting booths in the school gymnasium lobby on October 16, where students voted from 9 to 11 AM. The mock election was intended to provide students with a hands-on understanding of civic participation.

School officials noted that the event aimed to teach the significance of elections in an engaging way. Students passionately debated their food preferences throughout the day, with advocates for each food item making their case.

A similar mock election is set to take place at School No. 10 on Thursday, October 19, where students will cast their votes and see if pizza can maintain its winning status or if tacos can triumph in their cafeteria.
